FleetWave offers up to four levels of operational hierarchy to allow for flexibility in how you structure and manage your fleet.
Check the video out:
There are two main benefits to using these hierarchies. Firstly, it allows you to split up your fleet into smaller sub-groups by allocating your vehicles and drivers to specific hierarchies (see Allocate a Vehicle). Each vehicle/driver can only be allocated to one value in each hierarchy, i.e. only one department and only one cost center. You can then filter reports and KPIs by specific hierarchy values to see how certain sub-groups of your fleet are performing, and even compare them against other groups.
Secondly, you can use hierarchies to control what data FleetWave users in your business have visibility of when they access the system (see Add a New User). For example, if you were to allocate a user profile record to a specific location, that user would only see vehicles that are also allocated to the same location. Unlike the vehicles/drivers, users can be allocated to more than one hierarchy value, i.e. they could be allocated to three out of five departments, giving them access to the data of more than one, but not all, departments. Alternatively, you can leave a user unallocated and they will see all data (in the modules they have permission to access).
The four hierarchy tables are:
The amount and variety of these tables which are required will vary from business to business, depending on their size and structure, so use as many or as few as needed for your operations. It will never be mandatory to select a hierarchy on an AEV screen, so for any you don't wish to utilize, just leave the table blank and ignore the field wherever it appears.
