Prolong the lifespan of your vehicles, avoid any unexpected (and expensive) downtime and ensure your fleet remains compliant by setting up your vehicles with preventative maintenance service schedules. These are created on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis, but once set up, FleetWave will calculate when the vehicle is next due a service and notify you via a KPI on the Fleet Status Tool. Record the service in the Maintenance table (see Record Maintenance Work) so that FleetWave knows it has been done and can calculate the next event.
Tip - You can create service events in bulk if you have a group of vehicles with the same service requirements using the Service Event Tool.

1. Navigate to the Vehicles table
2. Search for the vehicle you wish to add a schedule to
3. Click Edit
5. Navigate to the the Compliance tab
4. Click to add a new record into the embedded Vehicle Service Events table
If the vehicle already has a service recorded in the system it will populate the 'Last Service Date' field, if not it will leave this field blank.
5. Select a 'Reason' for the event
You can configure which options are available in the event reason dropdown by adding/removing records from the Job Events/Triggers table (see Establish Lookups).
6. Set a ‘Seed Date’ if you want the service schedule to be calculated at strict intervals from this date, or leave blank for a flexible service schedule, based on intervals from the last service date
For example, inputting a ‘Seed Date’ will mean a fixed schedule, irrespective of whether a vehicle is presented early or late. By removing the ‘Seed Date’, the next service will be calculated based on when the last service was completed (using the recurrence interval set).
7. Select a 'Recurrence Interval' and 'Recurrence Type' (e.g. every 6 months) and/or a 'Recurrence Distance' (e.g. 6,000)
8. Click 
The 'Next Service' date is calculated by one of the following ways:
- By adding the recurrence interval to the seed date
- If no seed date was set, by adding the recurrence interval to the last service date
- If no seed date was set and no last service date exists, by adding the recurrence interval to the first date it finds from the fields: 'In Service Date', 'Delivery Date', 'Date Purchased', 'Contract Start Date', 'Date Registered' or 'On-Fleet Date'
FleetWave will populate the Fleet Status Tool if/when the next service date falls within the specified criteria.
