The Defects table provides an area to store issues that have been reported against a vehicle, but which do not necessarily need resolving immediately. For example, these may be issues identified during a driver's daily inspection. This ensures a record of the defect is maintained for future reference and can be addressed the next time the vehicle is in for a service.

1. Navigate to the Defects table under the Maintenance menu item
2. Click to add a new record
The 'Defect Number' field will be automatically populated on save with a sequential number following on from the previous job's number, and the 'Defect Status' will be defaulted to 'Reported'.
3. Enter the 'Defect Date' and time and the 'Registration Number' of the vehicle
FleetWave will populate the 'Driver Name' and 'Odometer' based on the vehicle selected.
4. Select the 'Reason', 'Severity' and enter any 'Notes'
5. Click to save the record
FleetWave will update the relevant Fleet Status Tool KPI to reflect the newly added defect record.
