In FleetWave only one user can edit a record at any one time, so when a user opens a record in edit mode the system will lock this record to prevent any other users from opening it to edit. If you try to enter a locked record in edit mode, FleetWave will warn you that it is currently locked, and inform you by which user.
This can cause an issue in the scenario where a user doesn't properly leave the record (by saving or canceling out of it) and ends their FleetWave session (e.g. closes the browser while still in the record). For this there is the Unlock Records tool, which as the name suggests, can be used to unlock records.
Check the video out:
1. Navigate to the Unlock Record tool under the System menu item
2. Select the table you wish to unlock records from
There is the option to select all tables, but be aware that selecting this option may take a couple of minutes to retrieve all locked records.
Once you select a table (or all), FleetWave will return a numbered list of locked records, displaying the table it's from, who it's locked by, the date and time it's been locked from, and the record identifier (e.g. 'Payroll Number' for drivers).
3. For all records you wish to unlock, click the 'Unlock' button on the relevant row
The record will be unlocked straight away, making it available for users to open in edit mode, and the table will refresh to remove the now unlocked record.
