Lookup tables in FleetWave provide the options available to users when they click on specific dropdown fields in Add/Edit/View screens - the field 'looks up' what's in the table to populate the dropdown list.

For example, if you navigate to the Body Types table under Vehicles, you'll see records for Saloon, Hatchback etc. And then when you're adding a vehicle the 'Body Type' dropdown field will contain these same values to select from.
Many of these tables are available on the menu bar so that you can configure the dropdown values to meet your needs by adding or removing records. Some tables will not contain any data when you first login to your FleetWave site, so we recommend establishing your lookup tables as one of the first tasks to getting started - see the table below for a list of empty lookup tables.
Most lookup tables are within their specific module in the menu bar, however, there are some instances where a dropdown field is used across multiple modules. This is primarily the hierarchy tables, and these can be found under the Account menu item.
All lookup tables require a 'Code' and a 'Description' as a minimum. The code is the value stored at database level and is usually either a number sequence, such as 001, 002, 003 etc. or an abbreviation, such as UL for unleaded fuel. The description is what the user will see on screen in the dropdown field. Many of the tables won't ask for any other details than this, but a few provide the option to add additional information that lends itself to functionality elsewhere in the system, which is explained below.
The table below lists all the module-specific lookup tables provided in FleetWave, with a brief description of the purpose of each table and whether it is supplied with data or blank:
