FleetWave Browse is the concept of accessing and managing data within your FleetWave database. Data is presented in a browse table and this table, along with the browse features, is referred to as a browse screen. There are quite a few actions that can be performed on browse screens to make it quicker and easier to find the data you need, and hopefully the below will have you browsing like a pro in no time!
Check the video out:
Firstly, at the top of the browse table there is a search bar which enables you to search for specific records. Simply type in your text or numbers and click the search button (or hit enter) and FleetWave will filter the table down to everything that matches.
By default this will search all columns, but you can specify an individual column from the filter columns drop-down if you want more tailored results.
Selecting a specific column will enable the filter criteria drop-down, giving you even more flexibility to return exactly what you want to see.
To remove the filter and go back to showing all records, simply click the button.
Above the table there is also a button called 'Pivot Query' for building pivot reports of the data in the table. To learn more about this see Pivot Reports.
There are several actions that can be done from the field name column headings. These include:
- More filtering: Click the filter icon next to the column you wish to filter on and the filter pop-up will be displayed. From here you can perform basic and custom filters to return the exact data you want from your chosen column.
- Sort: By default, tables are sorted on the first (leftmost) column, but to sort a table by a different column, simply click on the column name. Click once for ascending, and click again for descending. You can tell which column a table is sorted by from which column has the sort icon next to it.
- Lock: Hover your cursor over the column headings and you will notice a padlock icon appear . This works the same way freeze panes works in Excel, if you're familiar with that function, in that it will lock the selected column, and all columns left of the selected column, in place when you scroll horizontally. Useful when you need to scroll across a table but want to keep a particular column in view (e.g. registration number). Click the icon again to remove the lock.
Now to the bottom of the table, where you will see the navigation pane. From here you can see how many items exists in the table, change how many rows are displayed per page, and move between the pages by either selecting the page number or using the 'First Page', 'Previous Page', 'Next Page' and 'Last Page' buttons.
